Church family,
This past Sunday we were in Philippians 2, and the point was plain: a church gets built when its people pour themselves out and serve, not when a faithful few carry everyone else. There is no second team. We are all in the work together.
Then Sunday night, you lived it. Our first night of VBS was full and glad, and it took a small army: teachers, cooks, the folks at the check-in table, everyone keeping up with a room full of kids, and more than one of you praying before the doors opened. Thank you. That is the church we talked about Sunday morning, and it is a joy to pastor.
Let’s finish the week strong and celebrate it together. Wednesday, July 29 is Family Night, and it takes the whole church, not only the VBS crew. We start at 5:00 in the Family Life Center with a fish fry, and at 6:00 the kids lead the closing program. If you are not teaching or cooking, you still have a part: bring a dessert, drop it at the kitchen by 5:00, and come. Let’s send these families home full and glad.

We are packing 75 backpacks for kids in need across the Town of Wisner, and we need your help to fill them. Give by cash, check, or online, and note it for the School Supply Drive.

Men, we leave the church at 3:45 and drive to the Dry Bones Conference at North Monroe, which starts at 6:00. We will grab dinner together on the way, Dutch treat, with the location to come.

Our WMU hosts Missions Night at 5:30. Come hear what God is doing beyond our walls and how First Baptist can be part of it.

Men’s Work Day
Men, come help clean out and set up the Red Barn for our new Young Men’s Group, launching Wednesdays in September for boys in 1st through 5th grade. Bring work gloves.

Wisner’s Wisest: Driving Miss Daisy
Our Wisner’s Wisest are going together to the 3:00 show at the Princess Theatre. Tickets are $35, and yes, that is Pastor Garrison on stage as Boolie. To ride and sit with the group, sign up with Carley Kiper.

New This Fall
Wednesday Nights

|
Our new Wednesday night rhythm starts this fall. August is family worship, the whole church together, all ages, with no dinner or classes. Full programming begins in September: supper at 6:00, then classes for every age, Adult Bible Study (Nine Marks of a Healthy Church, taught by Pastor Garrison), Youth Group, Elementary, our new Young Men’s Group for 1st through 5th grade boys, and PreK and nursery. Come hungry, and bring the kids.
